Hi, thanks for visiting!
I'm an abstract painter, pattern maker, designer, and draftswoman with a BFA in Fine Arts from the School of Visual Arts in New York City. After over a decade there, I moved to Northwest Philadelphia to be closer to family.
I feel rather connected to abstract expressionism, in general, and my use of automatism is what launches my paintings into existence. There is a real importance in having a practice where the unconscious mind leads, this is where the muse lives. Having that raw, visceral transfer of emotion to “ground” is the foundation for little worlds to be born.
I like being somewhat traditional in my approach to abstraction. I do, however, like to push further into the “micro” of the environs I build. Small sections of most of my paintings become little worlds within pockets. A space where one can look deeper into the mysteries of life with curiosity.
While abstract painting is my main squeeze, my love for home decor, illustration, and design has led me into the digital arts and surface pattern design.
When I'm not in my studio, I enjoy hiking, studying nutrition, making herbal infusions, cooking, spending time with loved ones, and lounging.
